The Hawaii Teacher Standards Board administers the NBPTS fee subsidy program when funding is available.  A $500 fee subsidy will be awarded to first-time candidates who have not previously received a subsidy from HTSB.  Only candidates who have already paid the NBPTS $500 non-refundable initial fee and have received an active Candidate ID number will be condsidered.  Once funding has been exhaused subsidies will not be available.  For the application, click here.  Applications should be mailed to HTSB and must be postmarked by November 30, 2010.  To verify that a subsidy has been awarded, candidates should log into "My Profile" at the National Board Registration and Information Center, http://www.nbpts.org.  Results are not available at HTSB's office.
